FlyBy Cadet Program

The FlyBy Cadet Program is the academy's integrated ATPL course with a flight instructor rating and an instructing job attached, sold as a single enrolment. FlyBy publishes a total duration of 29 months in three phases: the 14 month ATPL Integrated Program, a 3 month flight instructor course of 30 flight hours and 130 classroom hours, and a 12 month flight instructor contract with FlyBy itself.

The third phase is paid employment rather than training. FlyBy states the contract carries a minimum of 330 instructional flight hours and is intended to bring a cadet to up to 600 total flight hours by the end of the programme. Anyone comparing this price against a pure training course should account for that, since roughly a year of the 29 months is a job rather than tuition.

Training runs in English at Burgos and Logroño, and intakes open every two months. Entry requirements are the academy's standard ones: completed secondary education, an EASA Class 1 medical certificate without restrictions, ICAO English Level 4 as a minimum, and FlyBy's admission tests in personality, English, mathematics and physics.

On price: 91,400 euros for the basic package. FlyBy also publishes an all inclusive package at 101,600 euros, which adds a private room in a shared apartment, three meals a day, airport shuttle, the Class 1 medical certificate and its renewal, theoretical exam fees, flight exams with an EASA examiner, licence issue fees, an iPad with training materials, a headset and a uniform.
