New Zealand Airline Academy Limited (NZAAL)

New Zealand Airline Academy is one of the country's newest dedicated pilot training schools, founded in 2018 by professionals with more than three decades of experience training international students. It operates from Oamaru Airport in North Otago, with a second base being established in Whanganui.

The academy holds Part 141 certification from both the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and is an Indigo Cadet partner school. Its Commercial Pilot Training Scheme is delivered under sub-contract from National Trade Academy, an NZQA Category One provider, with the Diploma in Aviation as the flagship route to a CPL with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.

What sets NZAAL apart is its fleet policy: a firm order of ten new Tecnam aircraft, including P2008 JC night VFR trainers, a P-Mentor IFR trainer with RNAV capability and a ballistic parachute, and a P2006T multi-engine trainer, brings the fleet to around 26 aircraft. Students from India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, and across Asia-Pacific train on modern avionics that transition cleanly to commercial jets, in a region with consistent year-round flying weather and living costs well below New Zealand's main cities.
